Women in the Channel (WiC), a not-for-profit organization focused on accelerating the growth of female channel leaders in technology, announced that it is changing its name to Alliance of Channel Women.
“Our new name, the Alliance of Channel Women, better reflects the collaborative way we work together as women to foster a culture of equality in the indirect channel,” said Alliance of Channel Women President Stacy Conrad, Vice President of Channel Sales at Fusion. “In addition, the new name enables us to better differentiate our brand in the marketplace to attract and support our members, sponsors and strategic partners.”
The new name was selected by a majority of the association’s members via electronic ballot from options presented by a Rebranding Task Force authorized by the Board of Directors.
Along with its new name, the Alliance of Channel Women has refined its mission statement: “Our mission is to advance careers and leadership roles for women at the highest levels in the technology channel by providing education, community, advocacy and opportunities for personal growth.”
As an organization, the Alliance of Channel Women is committed to:
Creating a community for learning and collaboration for women in the technology channel
Advocating for a healthy gender climate in the technology channel
Enabling and empowering women in the technology channel to lead through volunteerism
Recognizing the accomplishments of women in the technology channel
The new name and branding is being rolled out on the Alliance’s website at www.allianceofchannelwomen.org and its social networking channels:
• Twitter: @allianceofcw
